Basic troubleshooting

The removable battery does not charge

  • Make sure the AC adapter is properly connected and the removable battery is properly inserted.

Nothing is displayed on the screen

  • The tablet may be in sleep mode. Press the power button to wake up the display.
  • The brightness may be set too low. Increase the brightness.

The screen suddenly turns black and the power indicator goes off

  • Make sure the LED indicator in the HotTab Utility is not turned off.
  • Make sure the AC adapter is properly connected.
  • If the device is running on battery power, the battery may be dead. Charge the battery.

The quality of the wireless LAN signal is poor

  • The tablet may be out of range. Move the tablet closer to the access point or another wireless LAN device that is connected to it.
  • Check if there is any interference in your environment, such as microwave ovens, cordless phones. Move the tablet away from objects that cause interference.

I cannot connect to another wireless LAN device.

  • Make sure that the wireless LAN function is turned on.
  • Make sure the SSID setting is the same for each wireless LAN device on the network.
  • Reboot the tablet.
  • Make sure the IP address or subnet mask setting is correct.

I cannot connect to another device with Bluetooth.

  • Make sure that both devices have Bluetooth turned on (for the tablet, use HotTab to check if Bluetooth is turned on).
  • Make sure that the distance between the two devices is max. 10 meters and that there are no walls or major obstacles between the devices.
  • Make sure that both devices are turned on and configured to be detected.
  • Make sure that both devices are compatible.

The GPS application cannot find my location

  • Make sure that the GPS in HotTab is turned on.
  • Make sure the GPS receiver and location sensor are enabled in the control panel.
  • The tablet may be out of range of reception.
  • Move the tablet outside or closer to a window.
  • Check for interference in your environment, such as microwave ovens, cordless phones. Move the tablet away from objects that cause interference.

I have a problem with GPS accuracy.

  • If you are using the GPS function, we recommend disabling the barcode reader in HotTab to reduce interference.

No sound is output

  • Adjust the volume of the tablet by pressing the volume rocker.
  • If you are using an external audio device, make sure the cable is connected properly.

I can't project the tablet's display to another monitor

  • Make sure the VGA driver is installed.
  • Make sure that the selected output setting is correct.

The barcode scanner does not send a laser beam and does not seem to work

  • Make sure the barcode scanner is turned on in HotTab Utility.
  • In Windows, make sure the barcode reader is set to COM 15 so HotTab can drive the barcode reader hardware.

The barcode scanner emits a laser beam but does not read the barcode presented to it

  • Adjust the distance between the device's barcode scanner and the barcode you want to scan.
  • Make sure that the barcode type is enabled on the tablet. To enable/disable a specific barcode type, go through the Barcode Scanner Configuration section.

RFID scanner does not seem to work

  • In Windows, make sure the RFID hardware is set to COM 3 port.

Battery leaking or swollen

  • The lithium battery used in this tablet may swell after many charge/discharge cycles. This does not pose a problem in terms of safety.
  • Continued use in such a condition may cause the battery to become stuck, so you should stop using the battery and purchase a new one.
