BIOS setup


The BIOS system setup provides, for example, the following options:


  • Change system configuration information after you add, change, or remove hardware components.
  • Set or change a user-defined option, such as the user password.
  • Query the current memory size or set the type of the installed hard disk drive.
  • Change boot priority order.


Before using the System Setup, make a note of the System Setup screen settings so you can refer back to them later if necessary.

Changes to the BIOS system

Do not make any changes to the BIOS system settings unless you have the necessary computer skills. Some settings may cause the computer to stop working properly.

Boot menu

The boot menu allows you to manually select the drive from which the system should be started. This is useful if, for example, you want to start the system from an external storage medium.

Accessing and operating the BIOS/boot menu

With keyboard and mouse

To start the BIOS system setup, press the Delete key on a connected keyboard after switching on the tablet.

To open the boot menu, press the F11 key on a connected keyboard after switching on the tablet.


How to control the BIOS and boot menu with the keyboard:


  • Navigate through the BIOS and boot menu using the arrow keys.
  • Select entries with the Enter key.
  • To go back one step or exit a menu, press the Esc key.
  • Additional commands can be accessed using other keys; explanations can be found on the right-hand side of the BIOS.


It is also possible to control the BIOS using the mouse by moving the cursor with the mouse and clicking on the desired items.

With volume buttons and touch controls

To start the BIOS system setup, press the volume up (+) button after switching on the tablet as soon as the boot logo appears.

To access the boot menu, press the volume down (-) button after switching on the tablet as soon as the boot logo appears.


The BIOS and boot menu can be controlled via the touchscreen without a keyboard:


  • Tap items to select them.
  • To confirm a selection and open submenus, double-tap the corresponding entry.
  • To go back one step or exit a menu, press the ‘Esc’ button, which is displayed in the upper right corner.
  • If you need the keyboard, you can open an on-screen keyboard by tapping the keyboard icon in the top right corner. To close the on-screen keyboard, tap the icon again.
  • Additional commands are available with other keys; explanations can be found on the right-hand side of the BIOS. To use these keys, you must open the on-screen keyboard.
