Problem description: The remaining battery life estimated by Windows does not match the actual battery life.

Possible causes:

  • The usage pattern of the device is uneven, which causes the power consumption to fluctuate and a correct estimate of the runtime is not possible.
  • Active processes or programmes cause fluctuating power consumption (e.g. virus scanner)
  • The battery must be initialised.

Possible solutions:

  • Check whether processes or programmes are active that periodically lead to increased power consumption.
  • Initialise the battery to restore its full capacity: Fully charge the battery when it is switched off, discharge it to 0% and then fully charge it when it is switched off, repeat this process two to three times.
